During the Summer Term 2015, students had the possibility to develop a project with a free topic focusing on Baubotanik.
Results of the project „Baubotanik“.
The design studio „Speculating on Growth“ aims to examine how the spatial, ecological, social and technological changes within cities can be connected to the growth processes of Baubotanik structures.
The seminar "Treeface" mediates basics to the same-titled design, in which we are using living trees as a construction material beside common materials like steel and concrete.
The seminar "StadtBaumHaus II" (CityTreeHouse II) is separated in a theoretical and designing part. Strategies how to connect qualities of citytrees with those of treehouses are to be developed.
The IZKT Uni Stuttgart has organized an exhibition and lecture event in October 2012 themed "Baubotanik concepts - sustainable strategies for urban development".
The seminar "StadtBaumHaus" was separated in a theoretical and designing part. Students examined the cultural history of tree houses and city trees. The workshop part was about developing new typologies.
The seminar / design studio "Designing Growth" examines building processes of baubotanical structures and associates their temporal developement with changes of the urban environment.
The seminar "BauM-Ko I" deals withdesign basics of Baubotanik. These basics can be intensified with a small, baubotanical design at the offhand "BauM am Hang".
